Faber-Castell receives the 2010 OPI award
“Colourful World Tour” is voted the best marketing campaign of 2009
Every year at the Paperworld trade fair in Frankfurt, the trade journal OPI (Office Products International) honours outstanding achievements and personalities in this field of business. This year, Faber-Castell received the award in the “best marketing campaign” category for its “Colourful World” tour.
In June and July 2009, the largest genuine triangular-section pencil (not just a mock-up!) travelled a total of 1700 km (1050 miles) through Germany and Scandinavia.

STAEDTLER sells European “Eberhard Faber” trademark rights to FABER-CASTELL
By purchasing the “Eberhard Faber” trademark rights from the STAEDTLER Group, FABER-CASTELL has restored this trademark – which dates from the 19th century and is particularly well known in the USA – to its original owners.
This is a milestone in the history of the FABER-CASTELL brand, as it is the first time that all three Faber brands are once again in the hands of the original company, A.W. Faber, which was established in 1761 and which has been known as FABER-CASTELL since 1898.

Review of the Faber-Castell Group in 2008/09
The past business year 2008/09 was overall satisfactory for Faber-Castell. The Group generated consolidated sales of EUR 427.7 million (2007/08: EUR 417.6 million). While the first two quarters were marked by stable growth, the Group had to accept declining sales in the third quarter (October to December 2008).
